Images pasted from Windows clipboard always encode as PNG
When I use the Windows clipboard to copy an image from another application (say, a web browser) and paste it into Discord, the image is always decompressed from its original format and re-encoded as a PNG. This often increases the file size by a factor of 10. I know that this is because the Windows clipboard stores images in an uncompressed format, but Discord could still handle it much better.
Other software I use (such as screenshot tools) will analyze images and decide based on their content whether to encode them as a PNG or JPG. If the Discord client had this same functionality, it would dramatically increase performance when uploading most images from clipboard, as well as lower the bandwidth and storage needed for Discord's CDN.
