Immediate forced update linux
Hi,
Discord is a great tool, regularly updated for new features, and other things.
BUT, each time a new version of Discord is available, it requires immediately to have an updated version of Discord.
Unfortunately, I'm on Linux, so Discord can't update itself. The package manager needs a few days in order to get updated.
I here ask if it is possible to put a delay between the release, and the moment the update is mandatory.
Or simply make that the button "I'll figure it out" let us launch the app with an old version.
Thanks a lot,
Moot

I 100% agree, and it's been like that for at least a year. Discord should only force you to update when you are 2 versions late or something, not the same day an update is released. At least I can use the web version in the meantime but it's still very infuriating.

Yeah this is really annoying

Yeah it's a bit annoying to still not be able to use the old version until you want to update. I thought it was gonna let me use the old one when you press "i'll figure it out" but no.
Since i'm on Kubuntu i downloaded the debian file and ran the update hoping that it would update the version i had installed via the package manager. It didn't though so now i have 2 different versions installed :D
A bit annoying but i guess that will have to work until it's updated on Snap. Running the new version via the teminal until it's updated.0 -
I love Discord, I hate exactly this strange (non-usable) update forcing.
Unfortunately they don't seem to mind about that... as this issue is > year old, and nobody of the Discord-Team seems to noticed this ...or answered here. :(0 -
Again horrible day with discord fully blocking my dev-Team with Update-Forcing Dialoge !! :(
BUT... I've found a solution,
please see: StackOverflow and up-vote it there.
