Make en and em dashes connect

This is quite the nitpicky post, but whether it's the font or spacing, I think it would look a lot better if em (—) and en (–) dashes connected in the normal text (em does, but not en, when enclosed in ``). It just feels like the point of those dashes is kind of messed with when they don't do the thing most people use them for.
