Can’t hear in voice call with AirPods

My AirPods are connected to my phone correctly. I can hear joining and ending call sounds just fine. However, I can’t hear anyone in the call (though I see their green circles) and no one can hear me. When I go to my sensitivity bar, the entire thing is lit up (no difference if I’m silent or talking). The only issue is when I am actively in a call.
