deleting chat history

when you block a certain person u dont like anymore or times have changed between the two of you it would be nice to clear the chat. its pretty awkward seeing an old fight when u start messaging again.

ive been on discord for 4 years or smth and everytime there was a big update i had my fingers crossed for chat clearing. every other social platform makes use of this. why cant discord?

    I wrote something like this!! But in more detail. Feel free to check it out. I agree, when you have an old friend you just wanna clear the messages, its something you dont wanna see anymore. But Discord doesnt have that feature. LIKE WHY? Also, it should clear for both users and not just one.

    i don’t necessarily agree with that it should delete it from both sides.. i mean what if someone suddenly deletes your chat while YOU dont want to lose the messages. on whatsapp/messages/instagram u cant delete it for the other person either, and im not complaining abt that. lol

    true.. we wouldn’t want that to happen but think about the purpose of this. i have messages with old friends i hate to look at and i want to remove them completly but both sides of the conversation, yk? and let’s say it did become a feature: most people are tied to messages w certain people and would probably have good reason to want to remove things (not reasons like “it was a joke”, or “oops my bad”) but i totally get what u mean
