Feature Request: Be able to view replies as a thread.

I would like to be able to view replies to a message as a thread when I click on a button (similar to the button to write a reply, named something like: "reply in thread"). Ideally, this would be done in a way that allows a user to both respond and view the general chat and the reply thread at the same time in a split view. Benefits I see with this is that it isolates different conversations and makes conversations people want to follow in an active chat easy to read and respond to. Detriments I see are for moderation if chats are not easily viewable in the base chat, or clutter if they are. I hope I have accurately described the idea, and if I need to I can try to explain it better.
