Sorting Threads via Post Creator
Hello, me and my community of over 2100 users over at Cafe Dot are using Discord threads to simulate a social media feed, similar to Twitter or Instagram.
At the moment, with the tagging system, we can use a gallery to simulate an explore page, where people sort loosely and see art and other things.
But at the moment we have no way to simulate a "Following" system, where people can choose whose posts they want to see. Ideally we could have a system that lets you click on a "Follow" button next to a users name, and sort via their following list as well! Ideally there would also be a way to sync this across multiple thread galleries in the same server.
That way they can toggle their following tags off to see everyone's posts, find new artists, etc. but also toggle it back on to see their curated view whenever.
This is our biggest limitation in scaling the server even further, and a lot of people have interest in using discord over conventional social media platforms.
Thank you!

This has been an issue on other servers as well, where forum posts are used in a similar way for individual users to keep others updated about specific projects in large servers.

It'd be nice to have more customization for the gallery setup in general, I'd love to be able to adjust the sizes of images in posts when using the gallery view so I can see more posts on one screen and see at a glance ones I've missed, would be very useful for bigger galleries.

I have heard similar complaints over-and-over, in multiple servers, since Discord forum threads pretty much went live.
This idea is just so fire! Please, make this happen and make it happen fast, Discord!
Thank you, we appreesh you Discord Devs!

Yes, this would be amazing. Currently we can follow individual threads, but if we could follow specific users this could really imitate a regular social media feed. Being able to browse "new" vs "following" would make a busy feed much more comfortable for the viewer. In general we need more ways to filter the feed, such as by roles.
