Discord Shop Prices

I am a bit upset with the costs of using Discord and the customization. $5-$12 for a silly avatar or profile card customization when I am admittedly spending about $50 A MONTH FOR NITRO AND BOOSTS IS ABSURD.

I am not proud of the boosts I pay for, or the fact I am paying for nitro at all, and then there is this profile customization store that has very awful pricing for minor profile customizations, like are you kidding me??? For $5 I better be getting a small bundle of goodies, not spend $8 for ONE avatar overlay.

I get it, Discord needs money, they offer a free service, but like, can they at least offer value for the things they DO sell?

I know Discord will get the suckers who want it paying anyways (like me), but dang, can they at least give this stuff away to those who pay more than four times the cost of nitro? I do not really care, but at the same time, I am spending an absurd amount of money for a free chat program, why am I getting discounts for small customizations that are insanely overpriced. If anything, these should be a free nitro perk to get more people to subscribe, not pay for the luxury of having an option to pay more.

I would honestly rather see Discord create a fake currency within itself that is not tradeable but can be earned to unlock these items, maybe even getting a monthly drop of it when you have nitro. I would much rather face that than sit there and stare at $5+ items that really offer no value other than being that guy who was “smart” enough to burn his money.

This is just disappointing, I like some of the little overlays, but I will not be paying more for them, I genuinely struggle to see these as anything other than a cash grab, and I am already contemplating just dropping nitro, it already is overpriced without the booster packs. I would honestly love to see those come WAY down in price as well.

Anyone else a bit irritated at the pricing of things?

Yes, it irritates me a lot.

I have the feeling they really do not want to earn money.

There are some things I would gladly pay for, but I am not gonna get a 10€ subscription just to get HD streams, larger attachments or longer messages.

If I had the option to get one of these for 1€/month, I would gladly pay a subscription for Discord…. 3€/month seems about right for the service I receive from them.

But there is no way I will pay 10€ for all that useless crap in Nitro.

yeah Nitro is rediculously priced, I live in Australia and I've never wanted to pay money for it
