Spam folder

Lately I have been noticing many of DM requests from users of a server I mod for have been ending in my spam folder, sadly cant seem to be able to access the folder without having a “valid” message request. Which sometimes end in a legitimate message going unanswered for a week or longer till there is a request that lets me access the dm request folder through which I can get into the spam one. So would love  to know or if there is a legitimate way to access that folder.
