New UI = Accessibility issues

This new UI on mobile makes the app borderline unusable for me. The background colour in chats is far too saturated/dark, and switching to all-black or all-white is no better. Was Discord grey really so bad? I've never seen anybody complaining about it. 

Everything is way too round, it feels like I'm looking at bubble wrap without the fun of popping it. I also vehemently dislike those little bubbles on top of the Messages tab, with random contacts' profile pics in them. They're useless, they clog the screen (they're pretty huge on an iPhone mini!), and they just look bad. 

Going from the servers tag to the messages tab is very unintuitive. It feels like I have to jump through hoops and by the time I'm done making my way around the bubbly mess the app has become, the server has already moved on with the conversation (you know how big servers can be). 

Another issue comes with statuses. When you want to set your status to “Don't clear”, at least on an iPhone mini, you have to type your status, save it & exit the status window, reopen it, and then set it to Don't clear – because the keyboard doesn't retract and the Don't clear button is behind it. 

I just wanna know who on earth thought this UI update was good? Surely they don't actually use Discord, right? It's bad. For personal reasons and technical reasons. I hate it, and seeing all those posts, I think I'm not the only one. Can you guys at least give us the toggle?

    I agree with the toggle idea, I hate this new UI and nothing was wrong with the old one so why change it up at all.

    Completely agree with the toggle. I am having a very hard time navigating the new UI, and it is very inaccessible, especially for those of us who have issues already. I have problems with my hands and the way it is set up now makes me not even want to use the app.

    I agree with the toggle, and have gone to using the web browser version on mobile because it is more useable than the app

    The old discord grey was such a good color! I agree that this new one is very much too saturated and too dark - I can barely view my chats through it. Light mode will give me migraines and midnight is just a worse dark mode… I'm very disappointed that discord made such a huge step backwards in visual accessibility.
