the new ui

it's too hard to continue using. my migraines have never been so bad and easily triggered. it's hard to look at discord without my phone brightness all the way down. the grey and the gentle off white text were perfect on the eyes, it made using the app worth it as someone who primarily uses it on mobile. it was easy to look at. it was a perfect dark mode, genuinely everything i could ever ask for FROM a dark mode. i don't understand the need to change and differentiate the app from the web version if it is literally the exact same thing on a smaller screen. do your investors think people don't know the difference between a phone in their hands and a computer?

i'm genuinely considering never using discord again once i find an alternative that doesn't make using it impossible. i've been using discord since late 2017. i don't love it enough to stay after the last few horrible updates.

    agreeing with everything here, i have super sensitive eyes especially as of late since i sit in front of a computer all day for work; this update is literally so horrible to look at (ignoring the awful new structure of the UI)

    i really hope a good alternative comes up real soon that people can jump to because right now discord is the only platform that is SO widely used and offers so much personalization (up until now, apparently)

    also, the whole midnight theme has been an option for awhile for nitro users, why are we making this a default? is it just because the whole UI is being overhauled?

    and, onto the UI, it’s so awful to navigate the first thing I wanted to do was turn it off — when it went live on my sisters Discord we both looked for ways to turn it off (she doesn’t even use Discord that often anyway, and shes not the best with technology, but it was so jarring to even here, it just NEEDED to go) ; luckily that was when it was optional, so she could switch it off

    the whole swipe to reply thing is not doing it for me, its so sensitive and tapping is just significantly less intuitive

    idk who tested this (if anyone), and WHO greenlit this — fire all those people, discord, this is not a good decision, and i sincerely hope you take it off, OR if you leave it up, as you’ve planned, i hope it loses you so many users so you can at least learn to finally care about your userbase

    worried now for when it becomes permanent

    app has been a treat to use, the username change didnt make it unusable but did make matters annoying, THIS change? It is unusable
