Awful UI update - cancelling Nitro

Joining the chorus of people who hate the mobile UI changes. It's not just “weh change sucks”, the new design is actively bad.

  • Gestures that were already in use (swiping right→left to view the user menu) have been redefined to another function (replying to a message) that already HAD a gesture (pressing + holding on a message)!
  • The pinned messages tab no longer shows images. You have to navigate through CHANNEL SETTINGS to see a version of the pinned messages tab that shows images? It's otherwise a duplicate of the pinned messages tab.
  • DMs are on a separate page, so navigating between DMs and server messaging requires passing through a whole separate menu page. When you have DM notifications it's no longer possible to see who those notifications are from, and when you're on the DM page you can no longer see which servers have fresh notifications. Why is it no longer possible to view all your incoming messages in one place?
  • Accessing threads is more difficult, has also been moved to an entirely different menu for some reason, and channels no longer display an icon when they have subthreads (this functionality still exists on desktop). What was the point of removing this?
  • While I don't have visual difficulties myself, everyone I know who has the slightest sort of visual issue or photosensitivity finds the new themes to be difficult if not impossible to read.
  • When reentering a channel or DM, I'm routinely tossed in at some arbitrary point in previous messages, even when I was up to date in that channel. I'm also seeing many more phantom taps – messages lighting up as though they've been selected when my hands are nowhere near the screen.
  • I like the addition of menus that let you scroll through images/links/file uploads posted in a channel, rather than having to go through “has:image in:#channelname”. But that's the only improvement, and it's still difficult to access.

I've cancelled my Nitro subscription, & won't be renewing until at least some of these issues are fixed. I recommend anyone else who's frustrated over the unnecessary & obstructive changes do the same.

    I'm not just canceling nitro! I'm cutting my activity, I'm only getting on when responding , not just getting on to chat in servers, not like it'd matter, idek where everything is
