[New UI] Default screen when opening discord
Hi,
First of all, I love the new UI, and find it very practical !
The separation between DMs and servers is useful, and being able to use the ‘back’ button to go to the list of servers/DMs is something I find way simpler than pulling the drawer from the side.
People may hate it because it changes too much, but I think it really is better than the old one in term of UX.
My issue :
I'd just like to highlight the following point that, in my opinion, deserves to be fixed/changed.
(Also, it takes a bit more time to open a chat or channel, which is too bad)
The UI doesn't reset when you close discord on a server chat, and reopen it.
That means, opening it, you arrive on DM selection screen, which is okay, but when switching to servers, the app opens the channel you were on before closing.
This doesn't seem coherent to me, because when switching to DMs, you always arrive on the chat selection ; no chat is open, even if you closed discord with one open.
Also, since channel/chat opening is now a bit slower, it's inconvenient.
I think that, when switching between servers and DMs, the user should always arrive on the selection screen, and not on the previously open channel/chat (which is why I was speaking of ‘reset’).

If it was back all to one side you wouldn’t have the problem of it being on the same screen/ tab so if it was back to normal that problem would be fixed simple as that

I don't know if they have testers or not, but for any big update, you'll always count on the community for feedback, even after testing ; that seems like a given to me x)
Anyway, I don't understand how that's related to the subject at hand.

You do realize that Discord is using you as their “play tester” right? They don't have testers themselves lol

No, I'm obviously not paid, I just don't have the same opinion as you x)
Maybe don't downvote a post raising an issue just because it expressed an opinion that you disagree with >^<-10
