Mobile Layout for iOS Makes Discord almost impossible to use (Possible Bug)

The UI has changed and as someone on iOS it must be incredibly broken for me. I tried reinstalling discord after deleting it and it’s very inaccessible for me bow. I do NOT have a directed messages tab like everyone else on android. Instead of tapping the direct messages icon on the sidebar like I used to, I have to either 1) search for a friend’s name to find that chat, and also have acces to my list of direct messages for some reason, or 2) find the server this person is in, tap their profile, hit message, and then find my direct messages tab.

This also means that when i get the red pingn notifications from my DM’s, I cant open them! And the direct messages sidebar doesnt even tell you what you have or havent read anymore. It’s extremely frustrating and something that took me a aecond to do, now takes longer. I’m starting to hate using discord already, so ive been relying on messaging people on tumblr. I have a friend who hasnt tried discord yet, and I can’t recommend the app to them because they are also on iOS and introducing them to this app is useless and will only make them avoid it forever. This is unbelievable.

TL;DR: I have NO way to access my direct messages tab in any normal or quick way. This means that sometimes i have no way to know why I have notification numbers. The direct messages also dont tell me if theyre read or unread. this is absolutely unusable and discord is inaccessible
