The new update is not a step in the right direction.
When I first saw that Discord updated, I really liked the look. It seemed sleeker. After using it though, it has added several extra steps to do the same things.
You can no longer swipe left to show the click on a friend in the server. You now have to click on the channel name which pops up another screen. Why? This is an entire extra step and is unintuitive to the mobile user.
Secondly, when I get a private message, I now have to swipe right to get back out of the server channel, click on the messages button at the bottom, then click the persons message just to reply. How is this better than swiping right and clicking on the notification?
There’s now a thread button next to chat? Why? And don’t get me started about the gift nitro button next to the chat box. That makes absolutely no sense at all? Who does that not only appear when viewing another persons profile?
This is my first time to give feedback because Discord is a well designed and useful app. These design choices bug me a lot because they specifically make the user experience worse than tho previous update. Please allow us to revert back or fix this. Thank you.
