Audio Settings for Voice Messages (not just Voice Calls)
Request TDLR:
Add a section to the Voice and Video settings specifically for Voice Messages (not just Voice Calls). Or, have the Voice Messages default to the user's personal audio settings for Calls. Or both.
------------
Love the voice message feature and want to use it more! However:
- We can change audio settings for Voice Calls (Krisp Noise Suppression, Echo Cancellation, Automatic Gain Control, etc.) but cannot do the same for Voice Messages – Adding the option to adjust those same settings for Voice Messages feels necessary.
- Regardless of my personal audio settings for calls, Voice Messages appear to use the app defaults. (i.e. Krisp enabled, Echo Cancellation on, etc.).
- For certain users and microphones/mobile devices, the app defaults completely cut out significant chunks of audio when sending Voice Messages (myself included). This happens to anything remotely above or below normal speaking volume, as well as other human “sounds” such as blowing a kiss and making silly voices.
- This is a long-winded way of saying I'd like the option to willingly accept more background noise in order to send silly kissy noises to my girlfriend without Discord cutting them out. Thank you, have a nice day.
(Jokes aside, I do experience a lot of problems being picked up and would like more control over the Voice Messages I'm trying to send. This is all said out of love and I really enjoy using the feature!)
