New UI for iPadOS is ridiculous

I appreciate that the new UI has been brought to the iPad. Watching the old UI be unbelievably broken as tiny sections of the old UI crept in was unpleasant. However, this new UI honestly just turns me off from using the app in general. Im on an iPad Mini and when in portrait - the channel list takes up nearly half of the screen. With all this wasted space its so annoying to use. This also happens quite unreasonably in some of the horizontal split views. There shouldn't be a scenario where I can see more message content on a smaller app window - but alas. Not to mention that there are still the same rough edges from the old UI of just janky broken states. Really hope this feedback is taken into consideration

I have the same. I am on a larger iPad Pro and even there you have easily 2/5 of the screen taken up by server and channel lists when in portrait mode, which is my preferred orientation. The actual chat channel (or DM) feels very small and cramped this way. Not to mention the fact that all the screen clutter is very distracting. It all feels very uncomfortable to use and is making me want to close Discord every time I open it.
