The Newest Mobile Update
I'm going into this with a level of confusion, this update is so bad that it's nearly incomprehensible how it launched. It almost feels like tilting at windmills, like it's too bad to even take it seriously.
I've read over the update notes and this line specifically stood out: “The new mobile design aims to simplify and improve the Discord experience for everyone by creating a more organized, streamlined, and better-looking mobile app that helps you get to your chats quickly and easily.”
There is no genuine way the devs thought that moving the chat icon out of reach was a way to “help you get to your chats quickly and easily”. That, combined with the squishing of the entire UI, is just baffling given the statement they put out. Everything about this update makes it harder to use. Why couldn't there at least be an option to swap between the layouts? Why are we, as users, not given any agency at all in this? There are more posts on this than I've seen on almost any other issue, it's very clearly disliked.
Funnily enough, the update article says it will include “how you can provide feedback and thoughts on what does or doesn’t work for you.” and that is blatantly untrue, there is no link or info about giving feedback. The entire article is one big “you don't like it? Too bad” and that's amazingly bad, for reasons I'd think Discord could recognize before pushing this out.
I've never been so frustrated by an update and lack of communication from an app before. This is such a wild decision.

Agreed. I was a fan of TabsV2 and disliked that the new UI didn't include all its features. But I really liked the separate tab for messages.

Agreed. They need to change it back how they had it. The chat was better at the bottom near the notifications. They had it that way originally. Idk why they changed it back.
