New look for tablet/ipad

Discord recently updated on my iPad and it’s a bit unsettling and overwhelming. The interface closely resembles the look of discord on pc/laptop when horizontal, which it always has and is fine I don’t mind it. HOWEVER, now it looks like the pc/laptop interface when vertical…which is hard to work with to say the least.

I get trying to go for a more compact look however, with tablets/iPads it starts to look too tight and can make the user feel claustrophobic. I wish they brought back the swipe option so you can see the full chat again when in vertical orientation because this is har to work with :(

Edit/update: I think my iPad was just glitching out 😭 cause I opened the app this morning and everything was back to normal but I closed out of it and opened it again and it glitched again so idk what’s going on now D:

That made exactly the same thing for me and it is not confortable.

It sounds like the recent Discord update on your iPad has caused some usability issues, particularly with the interface resembling the Curso prenupcial cdmx 2024/laptop version when in vertical orientation. It's understandable that this change might feel unsettling and overwhelming, especially if it makes the app harder to navigate and use comfortably.

The absence of the swipe option to see the full chat in vertical orientation could indeed be a drawback for users who prefer that functionality. Hopefully, Discord will consider user feedback and possibly reintroduce or improve features to enhance the user experience on tablets and iPads.
