Option to disable Members List Recent Activity
The option to collapse the list is not enough as it is taking up valuable screen space in the user section. This is incredibly unhelpful outside of tiny community servers as it is either entirely unhelpful in large servers or just distracting.

Upon review there is an option in the server settings where you can disable it under Overview. Once again Discord adds annoying new features turned on by default that have to be disabled manually.

I dont think it's “Member's List” based, I'm pretty sure it's exclusively “Friends List” members only who happen to share that same common server. I could be wrong though. Either way, I agree it was initially annoying. It eventually grew on me personally, and now I want them to expand on it, but not force it upon everyone if they do not wish to see it.

Being able to turn off sharing your feeds as a server member is there.
Being able to hide the panel as the server's admin is also there.
What's missing is being able to turn off the panel as a member not interested in seeing this when the admin hasn't made such decision. Obviously, such ability should have been added along with the panel itself…4 -
I'm pretty sure this isn't a server side thing. This is a client side/member side thing. Which I believe is the confusion in the requests. It is not a feature that is forcefully added to servers against their wills. It's a feature that is initially activated for each individual user and they can turn it off from their end without any impact of anyone else on the server. Because this section only shows activity of people who are on that same discord server AND are also your personal friends, it backs up that this is an individual feature, not a server feature.
One that can easily be turned off by the cogwheel next to Activity and selecting "Hide Activity Cards."1 -
Girob1999 you are not right. The feature is enabled by a server option and, as far as I can tell, it is enabled by default. Azfi is correct that there is no way for a user to truly opt out on their own unless server managers turn it off for everyone. I agree that if this feature must exist there should be a way for users to control what they are seeing. It was enabled by default on my server where we are actively avoiding using community features due to how annoying they are.

Also, because my previous comment is not being approved by Discord support, I used Discord's own name for the feature to title this feedback thread. It being based on the member list or not doesn't matter, that's what they call it. The option enable/disable this feature is in the general server settings page on the desktop client. I was not able to locate it on the mobile app (because the mobile app is terrible).
