@Mel ^ It could be a thing if we campaign hard enough for it. Honestly, it's not a hard feature to implement, and if Discord is worried about increased storage demand, then make it a Nitro perk.

How on earth is this not a thing? Please I just want to be able to change my avatars to pictures of pretty anime boys without being embarrassed on my main servers.

This really needs to be an implemented feature. There are servers I'd like to have a RL pic for and others I'd rather not. Hell there are servers I'd like to use my ingame avatar face as a pic...

Welp. It's clear despite this being the most active thread in the Account & Server Management topic, Discord refuses to just give us a simple Yes/No/Maybe response. So it's clear this "Listening to feedback" thing was a lie to please the public and we fell for it.
That aside, I don't want this to be a nitro feature. As people have mentioned before, this would really be helpful for people who use discord for jobs and need this feature to change profile pics to change server rule breaking profile pictures.9 -
Obviously a setting that would be super helpful. It would also be one more item that I could pitch to my friends who are reluctant to move from other group chat servers.

Some servers are cry babies about certain content on their servers. This would be an important update that allows people to express themselves normally, and still comply with crybaby admins on G-Rated servers. Despite my flippant tone, and disregard for this type of censorship, the point of this comment is serious, and not facetious. Please seriously consider adding this feature.

PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!!!! I'm in different servers for different reasons and don't want to have to make two accounts to keep stuff separate. A server specific nickname AND avatar would fix all of my current issues.

Yeah! I support this too, our User names keep us able to be identified, but I would be able to change my profile pic to benefit what's going on in the server, like a character in an RP server or a meme in a meme server, all it takes is a click on my profile to know it's me, so there's no major worry, I have been using Discord for 3 years and I have saw many good additions, this is a chance to make another!

Discord seriously there is NO REASON for this to not already be a feature by now! We all want it and we all NEED it. This post is super old and still active because we all want this!
