Not an API issue, sounds are client side.

I can't see this not being useful.

I would very much like this, using the volume mixer to turn down discord also affects the volume for voice chat. At the moment Discord PM's or as it's now known as DM's are super loud to the point they bleed through the mic and users that you are in voice with can hear your messages coming through, so having a volume slider for notifications would allow users to turn them up or down separately from voice chat.

Hi there!
I have been surprised when not found this feature in settings. Please add :)
Thank you!

Please! I'm tired of this issue :(

This is exactly what I want since whenever someone joins or leaves my ears get blasted.

Yes, please. I'm doing work, listening to some quiet music when all of a sudden... BEEP BEEP!! Startles me every time.

This needs to be added at least for the notifications. With my sound settings those notifications are like a stike of thunder out of nowhere. And I can't fix it with the sound mixer, either, since I have people whose mics I'm boosting to 200% already - I can't boost them further to compensate if I were to lower the overall volume. This issue's been around for years (though the solution from two years ago of "edit the sound files themselves to lower their volume" seems to no longer even be possible - "progress"?), and it seems so very basic, I'm really surprised it's not done yet.

Please! Sometimes I'm in a call with someone really quiet. I can turn my discord volume up to hear them fine, but then all the discord noises are terrible!

For the love of God I've HURT myself being surprised by Discord call notification sounds.
They are above and beyond double the volume of all other applications through my desktop and there's no option to change them. There's a Reddit request about this exact same issue from 2 years ago. It needs to be addressed.

Strange to see that there is no adjustment to these notifications. They are incredibly LOUD.
I read the post that Dietz is talking about and I wish the file was still available that would have been great.Had to sadly make the switch from curse-twitch to Discord :'( everyone sounds like they talking through a pop can but I will get used to it.

So I think I found that if you look at volume mixer. There will be a discord volume slider, then one named what ever chat channel you have selected. lower the slider named after a chat channel. That seems to have fixed it for me.
Hope this helps. :)-3 -
There are two sliders. One for notification and one for voice. After every discord restart it resets notification slider to maximum or sets voice slider to minimum (as notification slider was set before restart). It's so annoying to fix volume mixer settings after every reboot. T_T

this tbh.
an in-app notification volume slider would be amazing3 -
For the love of god, YES.
The discord message sound is so irritating when a bunch of people are firing off messages in a group conversation.
I know there's a DND mode but sometimes I'd like to know that a conversation is happening and check in on it every few minutes, just not get bashed over the head with it every few seconds !!!!!3 -
Yes yes yes YES! I don't want my ears to bleed when I get these loud, sharp "BOOPs" but if I turn them down using Windows' volume mixer, then my call volume is also turned down and I can't hear people.

It drives me cuckoo hearing that little "beep" whenever someone sends me a private message. I just want to turn off the sounds without going on Do not Disturb, the red dot.
2 -
Agreed. if I have my volume set at 100 to hear my quieter friends and then suddenly getting a BLOOP notification in another channel thats REALLY loud right in my headphones gives me constant headaches.

Please.

Windows Sound Mixer does not make this feature request redundant. Think about people using different operating systems, think about people using the web-app.
