push notifications not sent on android
AnsweredSeveral users on a discord server I admin have reported that they receive no push notifications from channels where they have set notification frequency to "All messages". Push notifications are still sent for other channels with the "mentions only" setting chosen.

I have all notifications turned on for Discord in the app and in the Android Notification settings yet I receive no notifications whatsoever. I'm running Android 8.1.0.
This has been going on for several weeks now and people are beginning to yell at me that I don't respond to their messages right away lol
Please rid me of these headaches!

I have noticed that if I leave my PC signed into Discord, I will NOT get push notifications on Android. If however, I do not having Discord running on my PC, only during those times, will messages have push notifications on Android. This is unacceptable, push notifications need to be always unless disabled OR I get the notification somewhere else im logged into.

I have also not been receiving push notifications on my Android for the past few months. I don't know if I receive mentions; it doesn't really seem like it. I'll try closing the desktop app and see if that helps, though I agree that's not really a long term solution.

I used to get push notifications, but for last six months not a single one. I have Xiaomi phones. I'm not sure, if it is the auto AFK timer, or just bad Android notification process, but it kinda defeats the best feature of Discord - to summon my friends from their phones to their computers. It is very rare to see them come online, when I write a message to my server.
And also I'd like an option to turn push notification AFK timer to off. There are people, who want to receive messages on phone and talk on PC at the same time, so muting notifications is not desirable.

Same problem on Android LG G4.
All notifications enabled. Almost never get any DM notifications. Has been happening for months.
I do get notifications of things like announcements in channels.

Happening here as well. I noticed like someone above if I close discord completely on my PC I star getting them but as soon as I open discord on PC I stop getting them even if my PC is in sleep mode and discord is technically "closed". It's been happening for about a month to me.
Pixel XL on 9.0.
Edit: i forgot to mention my friend who's got a MacBook and an iphone has been having this problem as well. So it's not only Android and windows.
Edit 2: embarrassingly found out this is an actual mechanism in discord. Settings > Notifications > AFK timeout. Still think this should be managed differently though.
Edit 3: It is not AFK settings :) Have been of desktop discord for some days and I'm still not receiving any notifications on my phone.
Update 4: (I'm just gonna keep updating this) it seems that if I turn on my pc an discord is running on my computer then I get notifs after the AFK timeout. But if I turn of the computer after a little while or maybe even instantly I will stop receiving any kinds of notifications on my phone.

Still an issue for me, and it's not related to that AFK timeout - even when my desktop computer is off and unplugged for a week, I still get no notifications on my phone when someone DMs me.

Ditto - Android 8, OnePlus 3T, same settings as @Snapizzle. It's a functional failure when a stream I'm involved in gets missed because I'm only available on the 'phone.
This should be on the 'must-do' fix list for upcoming stable versions.3 -
same issue, running 8.0.0 on Samsung Galaxy S9 and haven't been receiving push notifications for a few months now, working fine on pc though.

Same issue, running 7.0 on Asus Zenfone AR.

Same issue.
Android 9, xperia 5.
No avatars showing neither.2 -
Same settings as Snapizzle
No notifications for more than half of my messages. If my computer is on with discord and I leave it, I do get pop-up messages on my phone after the timeout, but if my PC is shutdown I just get nothing on my phone.
On Huawei P20
Probably unrelated issue, but I sometimes got notifications, that would only show in notifications, not in the actual app itself once i opened, until I restart the app 5 times or so then the message finally shows up in context within the app.

Same here, Pixel 3 XL. Can we get an official answer ?

I and friends have experienced this issue inconsistently over the last month or two. It's become frustrating and more apparent now that more people are making that final migration to discord from platforms such as google hangouts. Please consider fixing this.

I don't get push notifications for any channels on both my OnePlus 6 and PC. PC will only sometimes play a message sound, but I won't get a notification # badge or app flash on task bar for that channel. Phone gives me absolutely nothing in the way of notifications for my channels. Not even when in the app itself. No badge on the channel icon. I have all notifications turned on. Nothing muted. Push enabled everywhere possible. Please just let me see when my friends are taking to me?? Sometimes it doesn't give me notifs even for DMs on my phone. It's a nightmare and is really starting to get to be more and more of a pain.

No notifications on either Android or iOS. As far as I remember, I was still getting them a couple of weeks ago. Now nothing. It only works on my desktop version but I'm not sure if all notifications are working. It's starting to get really annoying. Please fix the issue.

Correction to my previous post, the notification in iOS is working.
