I think the do not disturb option should allow you to stop in app mobile notifications while it is active this could he really helpful if you are focusing on something but don't want to go all the way to setting to turn it off then back on again later

    This behavior already exists in the Android app. I just tested it and if you put yourself on Do Not Disturb, you do not get in-app notifications.
