Spotify/Discord on mobile

I’ve been wanting this to be added for the longest time. I’m all in it with you
7 -
Yesss! Please make this a thing.

I know someone on android that this works with, so it would be really cool if this could be for IOS too, because that's what I use, and I'm sure a lot of others would be happy too, if this happened...
6 -
Yes! This is a definite need!! I love this!

I've been wanting this for a long time. I've submitted a request for it too, but I don't know what ever happened to it. But I know it's still not a feature. But I use an IOS device, and it doesn't work, but I think it does for Android.
4 -
Yes please, for android too!

If I'm understanding you correctly, I *believe* it's available at least in alpha on android. If you're in Discord Testers (https://discord.gg/discord-testers) the most recent in #android-announcements mentions native Spotify statuses, you just have to make sure to enable "Device Broadcast Status" in the Spotify app 3 -
Yeah!
3 -
When is it coming to iOS
3 -
Please! This is something I've been looking for since I started using discord on iOS exclusively. I listen to music for hours a day, I want people to see what I'm listening to!

This was a thing but was removed for some reason

I would really like this to be a thing.

It's been a couple of years since Spotify's debut on Discord platform. Now that I'm starting to use it more often at work, I wish it had this compatibility, in fact I think it should've been implemented at this point in time.

I asked support about this and was told to go and upvote suggestions for it so here I am.
I suspect it’s actually not even possible on iOS due to sandboxing. It appears that on Android this feature uses a setting that allows Spotify to tell other apps what it’s doing, but on iOS apps don’t have as much freedom to talk to each other.
Would be great to at least hear some feedback from Discord given it’s been two years since this feature was added to the Android app.
Edit: Scratch that. As soon as I open Discord on desktop it does now show what I'm playing on Spotify. I don't even have Spotify installed on my desktop so the connection clearly works. So bizarre that it doesn't work with just the Discord iOS.

This sounds like the Spotify Status feature which has recently been added to the Android Alpha as of 8.2.2 to let people road test it, and I would imagine that it will get released to everyone soon. I'm currently listening to a song right now on my phone which has the Android Alpha and it's being detected correctly everywhere. 1 -
It's been recently added on the Android alpha version 8.2.2 and currently under testing. 1 -
“Every other device” only pc has it currently. It is coming to android yes

Bc I need to know ASAP!!

Would also like to know about IOS lol

I’d appreciate this information as well.

I use exclusively the mobile versions of Discord and Spotify (iOS), and would love it if a feature was made that allowed Discord to show what I was listening to on Spotify.1

Spotify and Discord are two popular apps that allow users to stream music and communicate with others online, respectively. Both Remini apps are available on mobile devices, making it easy for users to listen to their favorite music and chat with friends on-the-go. By linking your Spotify and Discord accounts, you can share what you're listening to with friends on Discord and even listen to music together in a shared listening session. This feature is particularly useful for gamers who want to listen to music while playing with friends. With the convenience of mobile devices, users can enjoy these features from anywhere, anytime.

Currently, Discord has a built-in feature called "Rich Presence" that allows users to show their Spotify activity on their Discord profile. However, as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, this feature is only available on the desktop version of Discord and not on the mobile versions.
To enable Spotify integration on Discord's desktop version, you can follow these steps:
- Open Discord on your computer and navigate to "User Settings."
- Under the "Connections" tab, scroll down until you find the Spotify logo.
- Click on the Spotify logo and follow the prompts to authorize Discord to connect to your Spotify account.
- Once connected, your Discord profile will display your Spotify activity, including the song you're currently listening to.
Unfortunately, at the time of my knowledge cutoff, this feature is not available on Discord's mobile versions, including iOS. Discord regularly updates its application, so it's worth keeping an eye out for any future updates that might include this functionality for mobile devices.
In the meantime, you can manually share the music you're listening to by copying the Spotify link for the song or playlist and sharing it in a Discord chat or your status. This way, your friends can still see what you're listening to by clicking on the link and accessing the content on Spotify.

I understand that you would like to see a feature in the mobile versions of Discord and Spotify that allows Discord to display your Spotify activity. While I can't directly implement this feature, I can suggest a workaround that might help you achieve a similar result.
You can use a third-party bot called "Listen Along" in Discord to manually share your Spotify activity in a text channel. Here's how you can set it up:
-
Ensure that you have the Discord and Spotify apps installed on your iOS device and that you are logged in to both accounts.
-
Open Discord and navigate to the server where you want to use the bot.
-
Add the "Listen Along" bot to your server. You can search for it using Discord's bot directory or by directly inviting it via its website.
-
Once the bot is added, create a text channel specifically for sharing your Spotify activity. You can name it something like "Music Activity" or "Now Playing."
-
Grant the necessary permissions to the "Listen Along" bot in the text channel so it can send messages.
-
Open the Spotify app on your iOS device and start playing a song.
-
In the Discord app, go to the text channel you created for sharing your music activity.
-
Use the following command to link your Spotify account with the bot:
!linkspotify
. The bot will provide instructions on how to complete the linking process. -
Once your Spotify account is linked, the bot will automatically display the song you are currently playing in the text channel.
Remember that this workaround relies on a third-party bot, and its functionality may vary or change over time. Be sure to check the bot's documentation or server for any specific instructions or updates.
Additionally, keep an eye on official updates from Discord and Spotify, as they may introduce native features or improvements in the future that allow for seamless integration between the mobile versions of the apps.

Spotify and Discord both have dedicated mobile apps for mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets. You can download the Spotify app from your device's app store, and install the Discord app to enjoy music and connect with your Discord friends through your mobile device. Both these apps offer a good music and chat experience on mobile devices.
Modtodays is a website or platform that can provide modded or customized versions of popular mobile or computer applications, games or services.
