Ban user by ID from server
The ban feature miss a way to ban a user who just leave the server. Sometimes people came troll/insult and whe a mod is online the user just leave the server and came back later.
It would be really usefull to allow an admin to ban a user even if he leaved the server, with that we can improve our community management painless instead of having a bot who store each user ID and perform ban when the bad guy is back.

Sounds very reasonable!

I think to go further than this; being able to ban someone who has never JOINED your discord by Client Information; i.e., you see someone being a terrible human being in another discord; and you're just like "Gosh I really dont want them to ever be in MY discord" so you just ban them that way too; I 100% support this!

It's basically the same. I don't know if Discord keeps a record of who has ever joined your Server (you could check back names of welcome messages..) but the idea is the same. Joined or not, the user doesn't exist in the server and you want to keep it that way! xD

You can do this
Put the ID between brackets like this
<6238123654118>
then right click and ban.11 -
I agree, this would be VERY useful.

this can easily be done by any moderation bot -14 -
Discord bots were enabled to be created to extend the functionality of discord it seems, try utilizing a bot that does this. I could name one off the top of my head. I don't see use in Discord doing this as they can't really do anything to a guild member, if no guild member exists.

already possible -15 -
I get that "a bot can do that" but bots are external, so there's no OFFICIAL way to do this (Plus, finding the right bot can be a hassle sometimes.)
Apparently there's a way to do this in developer mode, but banning someone that isn't in your server shouldn't be this complicated.
I just believe that this would save time and make life easier for server owners.

I just banned some raiders that arrived, messed about in voice chat, and left. If you have a welcome channel, find their welcome message and right click it. Even if they're gone, you get the "ban user" option. If you don't want a public welcome, just set the welcome message to go to a channel that only mods can see.

You can mention them using their user ID with this format:
<@their_id>, right click > ban as usual.
If you don't know how to get user IDs, please read this: https://support.discordapp.com/hc/en-us/articles/206346498-Where-can-I-find-my-User-Server-Message-ID-

That's true, it would be really useful. Like it would be nice having a + button in your guild settings > bans, then you just got to enter his name and discrimnator, or user ID. If you really need to do this currently, several bots enable you to do that thanks to a command like ban UserID (reason). On desktop, there's another trick of sending the mention of a user in a channel (), right clicking on it, and -> Ban User. Hope this can help you 😃 0 -

Yeah I agree, that's true that this is a bit annoying of not knowing all the alt accounts someone can have, even if his main account is already banned from the guild. 0 -

I think this would be a really cool feature! One flaw may be that people could ban people for no reason and it would transfer over to other servers though. To fix this, maybe add a feature where it does not transfer automatically, but instead, the transfer has to be initiated manually just in case they make a mistake. 0 -

For people who don't understand this is for server owners only! Not admins or mods and you can choose to enable or disable it when creating the server or through the settings ect. Ect.

I really like this idea! If you've banned someone in one server you own, then likely you don't want them in your other owned servers for probably the same reasons. I think if this list were viewable outside servers (maybe alongside the blocked user list?) and given an option to make notes on each banned user, this could be a very useful tool for anyone that owns multiple servers. -1 -
