Auto-reply to DMs

Hi there,

With self-bots banned, I think it would be a great idea to be able to set up an auto-reply (think of it as your out of office email)

As an example I have a staff role on a certain server, and we have a normal bot which allows users to create tickets and staff can answer them etc. Sometimes users will skip this step and just go straight to sending staff a DM.

Sometimes this is okay, others I may be at work, and I believe it would be useful to be able to have an auto-reply to tell them I'm not available and to raise a ticket (of course, this couldn't be to every message, DMs are a lot different to emails, perhaps consider only 1 reply to 1 user every 30-60 mins?)

Sorry if this is a duplicate, I couldn't find anything with a simliar name.

    This would be wonderful to have available on Discord! I, too, sometimes get socially overwhelmed & need to take spontaneous breaks from time to time. Having automated messages to inform others that I will be back soon would be beneficial, instead of leaving them in the dark completely.

    Digging up an old post.  I'd love to have a feature like this.  As a moderator on a Discord Server I leave it open on one computer and do not always see messages as they come in.  I'd love to have a feature that replies with an auto message when either DM's are sent or calls.  People see the away status and still feel the need to DM or call.  Please consider adding.

    I have to be hard-offline for a week and really need this.  I see this thread is 2 years old.  

    Any chance that this is implemented and just isn't updated here?

    Drats.  Love Discord otherwise.  But it would sure be nice to have an out-of-office responder.

    I personally agree with most people here. Alot of us are running massive servers who have their own ticketing system and with some people thinking they are prestige to go and privately message a Admin or Staff member from a community is extremely annoying as some of us will have University work, Families to look after but we are here with over 20 messages unread and it really would help with the Auto-Reply to DMs because it will get people to understand server rules and its just less hassle. 

    With everything, there is always limitations, obviously as Discord is a massive company and home to us all, im sure there are ways around people abusing it to help the greater good. But overall, i dont know why this hasnt been implemented a while ago.

    Yes. One way to prevent abuse would be to make this feature only available to admins or owners of the server.

    As they’re the ones who need it the most.

    Auto-reply should be easy to implement, I don't see how someone would abuse this, because it would be triggered only when you get a DM, I don't understand why this simple and necessary feature is not implemented yet.
