Coloured code blocks
-
Hey 👋,
Same problem with code highlighting:
(P.s swift is not really swift like highlighted 😔 )3 -
Likewise, I’d really like to see this on iOS! It’s such a pain to read code without it on mobile!

yay, first...i'm so loanly
-1 -
That would be very nice, I do feel like it's a needed change 6 -
ok, I read over the "on mobile" part in your post. sorry for being a dumbass.

no problem!

Here is a mock image I made. I really hope this gets added, soon!

yeah that would really be nice!
Mobile deserves same chances as desktop ;p

Adding another vote on this in the hopes it becomes a reality.
This would be a great addition for both coders and non-coders that use code blocks for their server rules and similar. Right now the code blocks are bland and dull on mobile. Plus its hard to properly use a code block on mobile when you aren't 100% sure what it looks like on desktop lolz

Colored code blocks on mobile would be an amazing addition and move Discord one step further to being a great platform not just for gamers, but also for developers.

please add this!

This would be a great help to the majority of servers I'm a part of - There are times where tons of individuals in these servers don't have access to their desktop, and need quick coding advice, on the go!
Well what if the people answering are also "on the go"?
The syntax being gray, instead of color-coordinated makes it difficult to read when you're on the phone, and it makes it that much more difficult for individuals to easily assist others as efficiently.

This post gets a +1 from me5 -
+1 for sure. Neither mobile apps have syntax highlighting and would be a much welcomed feature.

Bump, I'd love to have syntax highlighting on mobile as well

+1 I hope this feature gets implemented soon ... It can't be that hard

+1 For this being implemented soon. I use color code blocks for neatly coloring Inventory on a discord RPG bot I code.
Mobile users have been asking why I am using weird brackets and .underscore_linked_text. :D

Bump. I use Discord for communicating with my programming team and teaching students sometimes, so I send a lot of snippets. I mostly use desktop so I didn't realize until today there's no highlighting on mobile; however I know lots of my friends use mobile to read those messages.
The syntax highlighting helps a lot to make it readable on the smaller screen. A few extra colors go a long way! Thanks for all you do, Discord team.

Syntax highlighting can colorize information and rules and information to make it more readable and nicer to look at. Good for making menus with bots as well

iOS is run on React Native, so you can just import Highlight.js there. Android may be a bit more complex, however.

+1 in the hopes that it becomes a feature soon!! I use code blocks to organize my projects in multiple servers, and it is a pain to add to or edit those logs when I am away from my PC and using a mobile device. I really hope Discord implements this!

Recently got myself an iPad Pro, and being a student who share a lot of code. Not having the syntax highlight on iPad is a major regression of functionality.

up, would be hella helpful tbh

Cause they're too busy breaking their ui to do something useful

The mobile app still hasn't got colours on code blocks, even though I know the module to do so is less than 12kb in size and runs on basically everything.

May the PO pull it to the top of the backlog :D
It is much needed for the programming communities that are ever growing on Discord.4 -
This is true!!
