More Blocking Features (Private Account Option)
There are not enough blocking options. When you block you do not see the online status, that is it. When you block someone I feel that they should not be able to see your past messages. In example, let us say that you are being harassed, as my friend was some time ago.
1) You have to block someone from putting words into your mouth. If you block them, they cannot see your messages; as you cannot see theirs. The only way to break this spell is by unblocking, which is your choice.
2) You are being cyber-bullied. When you block, you are not only invisible to the harasser, but I believe they should not be able to see your icon changes. Especially remain on the friends list if the direct messages are open. To me, DMs should be closed definitively to prevent further harassment.

Suggestion two, private accounts.
I do not want anyone to be able to search for my account due to previous harassment that my friend had gone through. I feel that accounts should have the OPTION to be private. In which, those that are NOT your peers (whom you can regularly give your discord tag to) cannot search for you. They can have your tag, but they have no results of your existence unless they are a peer. Sounds like an odd option, but I do not want to be or wish to be found.
Thank you.

I agree, Im always seen the "Blocked messages" and so attempting to tap on it , to see the messages. Why we need to see a blocked message? Since we don't want to hear them though, its freaking annoying and always makes everyone curious from what they are saying.

yep. then you get triggered and things start to get weird and toxic among people who are mostly friends. it causes problems. happened to me the other day and i slept for 32 hours i was so bummed.

petition.com - then go to all the threads and have them sign it. I'm tired of it.

Another great idea but pretty sure someone already said this and they ignore him, like always.

Very good points you bring up. This would prevent any cyber-bullying and bad attitudes, and give people more peace of mind and good environments when using Discord.

Honestly I'm done with discord I just run my own teamspeak3 server since I have a rack with multiple hosting other games for my friends not extremely annoying people I don't want to see ever. Also codec opus music :)

We need this so bad.
A friend of mine blocked their ex because it was incredibly inconvenient to them. But they still gets the typical "XXX posted this" notification even though they're blocked, like... what's the point of blocking on discord then?
It doesn't help that you can just click the messages and read them anyway, why?

Yeah I get it KiX. But all my friends are on a pretty well built discord.

Agrees.

This could be abused by malicious users who are raiding, spamming, or breaking other rules.
Think about it, the user could block a server admin or mod, and they could do whatever they want and the mods would never know.

@Matthew:
Easy. Server owners, admins, and mods (per role permissions) can have the option of seeing blocked messages anyway.

I support the general idea of this, but some items seem kind of pointless. Like why just block .gifs from somebody? That doesnt seem to make sense to me 0 -
Yeah, its definitely more of a niche thing, but say someone keeps spamming you anime/furry/ships/cursed images or .gifs (and somehow doesn't get banned), then it could be really helpful for someone that needs it.

but see right there, even in your example, there's no real difference between a regular block and the specific blocks. Because in your example you say "And somehow doesn't get banned" eating you would have preferred no more communication at all, not just no more GIF 0 -
@ChaosMiles07
Then people would go complaining that it's an 'invasion of privacy' that just because people are mods they get to see their messages.

DIscord decided to put my ticket here, the ticket with 127 likes that they always ignore. They never gonna put a block function that works properly guys, let's go back to teamspeak.

They really need to give us an option to not see blocked messages, a dev told me "You don't have click on them, you know." but all of us know the first thing we wanna do when a blocked message comes up is to click on it to see.

Come on guys, this is obviously a much requested feature. It's easy to say "don't click on it" but humans are naturally curious so obviously the first thing we're going to do is click on it.
2 -
Telling someone to ignore blocked messages totally misses the point of having a block feature - if it were easy to just tune a particular person out and not be upset by them, there would be no need to block them.
6 -
The difference is that you can see their messages, but not the image/gif/videos or the notifications if you prefer it that way.
1 -
Oh Yes pls! I need this! If I block someone I don't want to see that they post sth ever again

This could come in very handy, as blocking people can lead to a lot of trouble. -1 -

Yes please this is really needed. I left servers to specifically get away from somebody but now they joined again a server I'm on and I really wished they could not see me and specifically not my messages If I blocked somebody there is a reason and I would prefer them to not be able to screenshot messages from me or similar stuff. As things are now only way for me is to leave another server. I just don't want them to be able to interact with me nor to see my messages at all. That our own messages aren't hidden from the blocked person is worse than being shown that there are hidden messages from them abd honestly makes the blocking tool pretty useless in the end.

Also hide my messages from the blocked person please. I seriously feel uncomfortable that certain people I blocked may be able to screenshot my messages after I blocked them to cause me harm. Hell there are reasons that I block people and always being forced to leave servers because a blocked person ends up following me around/is part of the same circles kinda sucks.

Agreed sammysam8891 - If you block someone, it should be like locking a door. Communication should be prevented both ways.
And I'm adding my voice to the original request: "Don't show those '1 blocked message' notifications." At best, give users a settings option to show that or to completely block the user - to not show any trace of them anymore.
The current system is like having the offending person standing in front of you waving their arms while you have your hands over your ears.
EDIT: As Artel pointed out on page 1, the original post has been changed. Apparently the Discord admins like to sow confusion. My support is mainly for completely removing / hiding the "n blocked messages" notifications. I'm having second thoughts about preventing the blocked user from seeing my posts, though, since I agree that that can be open to abuse.
I also support the blocking of voice chat between the blocked and the blocker. -T7 -
While I personally see the value in seeing if a blocked individual who shares a server with you posts anything, I definitely understand that a lot of people just want to block somebody and never see hide nor hair of them ever again. 0 -
I get that. And an easy solution is to split it up - the current block and then a complete block that works like blocking does literally everywhere

when i block someone, i want them to stop seeing my messages. that's what blocking means.
the fact people i block can still see me and interact with me is scary, tbh.
