Light theme font looks fine to me. It being too dark would just look badly done.

maybe have this as an option to toggle?

I generally like to not strain my eyes, so I use light mode, but I often have to switch back to dark to read some text. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Put another way, the text/background contrast is too low in the white theme. It's almost unreadable in good lighting on a good monitor in macOS.

I too would like to see this. White background with grey text isn't ideal. If Discord doesn't want to make text permanently darker, then please at least add the option as an accessibility feature.

For the record I'm talking about the desktop client here.

Hard disagree on the option to toggle. Discord would be the first — and only — thing where I'd consider using an increased-contrast accessibility mode. If otherwise-normal people on good monitors in external lighting that isn't super-bright are complaining about the low contrast, the contrast is too low.

(For the record, I think the contrast level in Dark Mode is fine.)

I too agree Dark Mode contrast is fine. And I’ll concede it’d be better to just get it fixed properly.

Please fix. Whether it's an accessibility toggle, an experimental toggle, or whatever, I don't really care. But I'd like to be able to read the text, bottom line.

With today's update I'd probably say this is fixed.

Huh? This is not fixed. I'm on Discord version 0.0.255 on macos. The text is ridiculously unreadable.

EDIT: Oh, apparently it's on Discord Canary.
