Rearrange video windows in group chat video calls
Often in group calls one or two user's video feed will be displayed larger than someone else's and it does not seem possible to choose which user goes where. It is particularly annoying when not everyone in the call is on cam and Discord decides that the largest windows should be dedicated to the non-cam users.

Exactly. It would be nice to drag and drop users, but I would also suggest adding option for hiding / showing specific user when doing video calls.

This is the feature I want most for Discord right now.

This would be HUGE!!! It would really enhance my discord experience. It would be ideal to select which caller is featured large and to adjust sizes based on need rather than them being automated.

I'm so glad that other people are thinking the exact same thing!

So much this. It's very burdensome for me as well.

This would be such a big quality of life thing

Yes please. I would like to have the flexibly to arrange and resize the videos as I see fit. (Honestly I want them all lined up at the bottom of the screen (wide and short like rail cars) so that I can leave the videos chat at the bottom of the screen and see faces while maximizing the rest of my screen real estate).

We (me and friends) tested out Discord via group video this month, which was a pleasant experience overall (nice quality and stability of the connection), but we agreed that the arragement of the windows was kinda awful, because most of the callers saw the 1 guy of 5 which had no webcam available in the middle with the widest window of all. We used it to play a RPG-Pen&Paper, therefor a possibily to enhance the presentation (with arrangement of the windows, preferably indiviually) of the game master or at least disable the window of non-cam users would be gold! Maybe one day :)
Other than that, thanks for this free and powerful app to have a lot of fun with friends during times of pandemic and thanks for temporarily expanding the free user limit :)

Any word on this feature request? I'm dying to make this happen. :(

Yes, this. If the windows could not rearrange when someone drops the call, that would be great too. (And would make Discord the GO TO for video podcasts.)

I too run a group chat for a game and wish I could at least lock everyones camera position in place. I try to use this during streams and having to rearrange all the cams each and every stream because every time someone cams down discord rearanges the positions of everyones cams.

When window capturing Discord in OBS, it's pretty much a disaster for the OBS layout if one or more of the participants leave the conversation or if a camera bugs out. Best case scenario is that two people change places, but more likely you'll get two people sharing the same frame cut where one person is cut off from the nose down.
The automatically arranged windows is handy when just chatting with people but when streaming mode is engaged it would be greatly helpful if there was a setting to lock the current positions at some point.

Late to the party but wanted to drop a comment in here in case Discord devs see it. This would be super helpful, even just an option to lock the windows in place - I'd like to create a streaming overlay where I can have frames with the names of our characters and the video doesn't swap out when someone turns their camera off (which my group tends to do when they're eating/stepping away for a minute).

Echoing all of the above. We're running a big gaming charity event in a few weeks and considering moving to Zoom because we don't want windows constantly rearranging if our guests have video issues (unfortunately common). If we could just pin the user's videos, it wouldn't matter so much if they blanked out for a minute here or there because at least the visual presentation wouldn't confuse viewers.

Also interested in this. I was hoping it was a setting I had missed. We're doing d&d remotely and it would be so much more useful to be able to set the map big and the players small

An accesibility/usability feature that everyone would appreciate and intuitively use but isn't available, same thing with how you can't resize an invidual so they're the "focus" but still are able to see other's in a normal fashion instead of tiny specks of dust on the screen -_-
