A way to customize the Discord Client

Currently we are all stuck with the same old Discord, I believe it would be nice if the amazing people at Discordapp were to create something like BetterDiscord (Which was outlawed a bit back) This would be absolutely amazing to be able to have a custom background, custom ringtone, nicer looking role colors, favorites tab. It would also be amazing if the developers on the platform were able to submit their own plugins, much like you could in BD.. Of course it would have to go through some sort of team to make sure there are no viruses or malware on the plugin before it is official. I just feel like, over my 3 years of using Discord, it needs an overhaul. Someway to customize the client legally and without issue.
