General Channel
For the people who are confused, just because a channel is required to be default or general doesn't mean the name of the channel has to be general or default, this feature would be like a tag or a permission in the channel
Lets say I want my bot to do a Welcome Message (whenever a bot joins a server the bot can send a message with some info about maybe configuring the bot) or maybe I want to do changelogs so that all the people who have my bot know what new features my bot has...
The current best way of getting a general channel is to basically look for the word "general" in the channel name. As some servers may not have a channel named that or they have multiple general named channels the bot most likely won't be sending it's message in the appropriate location without a configuration command.
So I believe it must be a requirement for every server that atleast one channel must be a 'general' or 'default' channel so that the bot can post their message appropriately

I'm confused, why so many down-votes?

This appears to be somewhat restrictive in my personal opinion. I wouldn't feel comfortable with being forced to pick a specific channel to redirect everything Bot related. I believe one of the current methods that some Bots use is to find the first channel in which they have permissions to send messages under, and post the message in that channel. Also, not everyone would want a channel specifically called "General" because it may not fit in well with their setup. 0 -
Obviously the channel doesn't have to be called general, the requirement would be kind of a permission or a tag so that this wouldn't limit the naming of the channel. Also no, not everything bot related would not be on that channel, just the welcome messages and changelogs until the owner decides to configure those
