I found myself in a pretty sticky situation recently where countless of bots sent NSFW images and continously joined with other people. There were I'd say maybe 20 or more bots joining continously after I banned them. It is pain to ban each bot 1 by 1 on a mostly chill server where a lot of stuff is not guided upon. But NSFW content spammed in almost every channel was painful. Locking each channel and banning every bot that joined. Had to remove all invites and because the bots seemed to beat the server verification system.

I have a few people in my office that would love this. Mass message deletion should definitely be a thing.

I just wanted to add on here because I thought of a pretty fun way to do this.
Maybe there’s an icon at the top right next to pins or just some sort of button that’d activate the selecting. What I was thinking was maybe like a little wiggle mode and all the messages would begin to wiggle and you can then select multiple message from there. Be it a checkbox or like the messages change colors when you select them. Then when you’re done you can press the same button to confirm the delete!

Discord please make it happen, running a guild discord server I spent so much time manually deleting messages, we should be able to "tick" several messages and then just got delete

Yes! I came here to submit this idea, myself. I run servers of my own with many members and someone is always posting something in the wrong channel. We need the option to move messages to appropriate channels when this happens, as an owner/admin of course. Deleting bulk messages would be extremely helpful as well, so thank you for posting this!

I'd love to see this as an actual feature but if you're looking for an alternative option, Moderation bots can remove many messages with one command (e.g., "!clear 100" would clear 100 messages)

Would be a very nice addition.

Opino lo mismo, hace falta una opción así en Discord, se agradecería la agregación de esta función.

Some way to do this would be really nice! Trying to react with 3-4 things can be very slow... My debugging showed 0.2 seconds for the first reaction and then from 0.8 to 1.1 seconds for each reaction after.

It's a must need with how dynamic bots are becoming.

Gonna throw another necro on this, came to post regarding it. "Server Mute" does the job, but it turns off all sounds regardless if you have the channels muted or not. I wish "Server Mute" would just mute all channels, then you can go back and unmute specific ones. It's a HUGE pain to have to go and individually mute 30-50 channels just so you can have the 2-3 you want unmuted, and you have to do this for EVERY SERVER. It's nuts!

Really hoping this gets added eventually. Tired of having to update every single time a new channel is added.

Is not just that it's a hassle. But you can't delete either other people's messages from Direct Messages. Why is it a problem that you can't completely erase a whole conversation?

Well, privacy, folks. It means that, If for whatever reason I leave my computer open by mistake, or someone guesses my password, they'll be able to read all my conversations. That's pretty bad. Not just for me, but for the people I'm talking to, the fact I can't delete their messages is a breach to their privacy, cause a third person could read what they said. Currently there's no way to get rid of those messages, and that's really inappropiate.

    Yes please

Could cause accidental friend removal. Some could have ticked a whole bunch of people and accidently ticked someone else that they didn't want to remove (this would be a common mistake on mobile). So probably yes for PC, but no for mobile.

Draco, the point of mass friend removal is to select what friends you want removed and then you confirm the friends you want removed after the selection

    You already can

It's already possible to do this by long pressing the message.

Для игровых сообществ (например, WoW) это очень нужная вещь. Перемещайте пользователей по частным каналам по одному за раз.

This is what I came here for..  I want to limit some channels by a role that's related to their topic. Currently, everyone can see them and I don't want to make people opt-in to have it remain visible.

If i could mass apply the new role to everyone, then people can opt-out of whatever they want.

Without this, I'd have to go with some sort of negative assignment.. where they might say ". notGambling which would apply a role to restrict that channel.

Yes, it works but it's going to be confusing to use anti-patterns to assign roles, and it will probably break down when inheritance is considered.

I can't think of a scenario where you would need to move many people at one, what is the point of this?

I love this idea. It would make it so much easier than clicking delete and confirming one-by-one!

Now there doesn't appear to be ANY way to delete messages. They're really dropping the ball on this. :-(

I getcha - like on a phone's gallery, you can hit the trash can and then radio buttons appear. Something along that line.
