Ability to hide specific verified games
I want people to know what games I'm playing on discord but there are a few games I'd rather have them not know I'm playing. The ability to hide specific games that im playing so it doesn't show when I'm playing that specific game without having to manually turn of "Display currently running game as a status message" would be pretty nice.

motmot
because Synergy is also the name of a Half-Life Mod, and discord see the app running, therefore it think you are playing Half-Life Synergy Mod.3 -
Nobody needs to know I have OVR Advanced Settings open while playing VR games. This also actively hinders my ability to stream vr games, since the "game" I'm officially playing is whatever VR tool I'm using at that time.

Totally agree with that, I have the same issue.

How is this still not a feature!

Bump, needing this right now. Also sorry for the notification to all

There is possible to enable playing status for the game discord doesn't know... Why there is not a feature to disable status for the game it knows? It's very logical for this feature to exist! Absolutely agree with all here.
2 -
Implement this please...
2 -
I think it's also important to hide added programs that were added to use the overlay.
2 -
+1 because we need this
2 -
+1 because this is ridiculous
2 -
+1 Been wanting this for years
2 -
I like the feature, but because of this i had to turn it off...
2 -
I would swear this used to be an option, I'm sure in the past I've disabled a game from showing up, is it something to do with the "verified" status? Either way just implement this please.

The suggestions section is made to make it look like the opinions of the users matter ... when it doesn't. Discord always shows the android emulator running in the background, but the games I play do not. It turns out the option to display the running game - a useless, buggy dummy.
It turns out that this issue was raised two years ago, but nothing has changed. It is a pity that the opinion of users - do not care.2 -
Once upon a time, when Blizzard released their launcher, they deliberately left out the ability to appear offline and hide what game you were playing. The thought at the time was that they didn't want their new ecosystem appearing empty. They eventually added that feature since not having it was stupid.
My suspicion is that there's an internal management decision not to implement this feature because they really want everyone to appear social all the time.

This problem isn't even about that. You can already set your status to invisible/offline in Discord. The ask here is to allow us to permanently block specific applications from appearing in our game activity. There is no sane reason why this can't be implemented, this is just a case of Discord ignoring their forums.
Everyone should just go spam their support team with tickets again to get their attention. Hopefully someone on their support team will actually show some initiative/backbone and start asking why nobody monitors this forum. We've done this before and it did get their attention, but enough people didn't do it before.

But actually this option prevents from social interactions. Friends think that i'm playing in android emulator and doesn't call for me to join other games. When i do not even look into emulator and playing another games at this time! Doesn't matter which game i'm play - World of Tanks, World of Warcraft or something other - this lazy option always shows only Nox. Incredibly ill-conceived!

Oh, I agree there's no good reason why they can't implement this. It's not even as if this has only been requested for two years; this thread is only two years old, but people have been complaining about this issue for longer than that.
I'm just saying that since there's no good reason and it still hasn't been implemented, we may be left only with bad reasons. Either literally nobody monitors these issues or there's a deliberate and cynical decision being made to ignore it.

I really don't understand why this is taking so long.
I have a fitness tracker for VR games (YUR) that runs as an app on my pc. Whenever I play a VR game, Discord shows me playing YUR instead of the actual game I am playing. I've tried removing it from the "Game Activity" page but it keeps coming back.
Super frustarting that I can't just hide it.

It's crazy this hasn't been implemented. I'll be disabling the "Feature" until Discord decides they give a hoot about this.
2 -
Does discord have any support or is this forum only here for users?
Why has this not been implamented yet?
3 -
We need to push foward this community post somehow...
2 -
I've been in contact with Discord Support directly in email, and told them to look at this. They told me they were going to look at the thread in November. Obviously, nothing has happened.
3 -
I would love it too.
2 -
WHY ISNT THIS A THING ? :(
2 -
Trying to stop OVR ToolKit from showing up instead of the actual game I'm playing whenever I'm in VR. I bet hiding specific "games" would let me fix this situation.
3 -
+1 from me as well.

Being able to toggle this on a per application basis would be immensely helpful. There are apps used on a PC on a daily basis that don't make any sense to show as in use on Discord, like Android emulators.
3 -
Really discord, come on. I leave warcraft open literally 24/7 for auction house stuff, but I'm not *actually* playing it.

So I submitted a bug report. I'll paste the full transcript below, but the TL:DR is: They know. They don't care. They wont fix it. They claim we can "vote for it as a new feature" which yea, that's total BS.
Transcript:-
Discord continuously re-adds verified games in "Game Activity" even after removing it which makes the feature unusable when either you don't want to broadcast a certain game to the world, or when things like launchers register as the game, and you don't want for example, so broadcast "PLAYING LEAGUE OF LEGENDS" when the launcher is open, or when it interpenetrates other programs as verified game such as Synergy; Its well documented on this thread with almost 600 upvotes: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360039453351-Ability-to-hide-specific-verified-games

Hey ឵឵Josh,
Thanks for reaching out! Sorry to hear it keeps re-adding removed games. While that feature is currently not in-app, you can post this as a suggestion or vote up existing suggestions at feedback.discordapp.com if you would like to see changes to these systems in the future. Here, I found a similar request as yours: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360054291931-Option-to-disable-ANY-detection-of-running-games
It really helps us out if you upvote the idea since feedback contributes greatly to our decision-making of which features and fixes to implement in the future based on what our community wants. Please note that the number of upvotes is generally not the sole basis of a feature being added to the app.
I'm so sorry again that we don't have a current solution for you at this time, but I like to think that anything is possible in the future.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Cheers,
Gabe4 -
