If Red part in the following pie chart is 40, what is White part?

**Concept:**

**Pie-chart:** It is a diagram consisting of a circle divided into parts to show the size of particular parts in relation to the whole circle. The Sum of all parts of the pie chart is always equalled to the whole circle.

**Calculation:**

Let the total value of the pie chart be x.

Hence, from the figure,

Red = \(\frac{1}{2}\ of \ x\ = \frac{x}{2} \)

According to the question,

\(\frac{x}{2} = 40\ \Rightarrow \ x = 80\)

Therefore,

White part = \(\frac{1}{8}\ of \ x = \frac{x}{8} \)

\(\Rightarrow \frac{80}{8} = \ 10\)
