Remove GIFs URLs
We all love GIFs and the only thing that's ruining it is when every time I post a GIF it shows the URL of that GIF. It's just not important and it sticks out in the chat! Please remove URLs ASAP. Facebook, Whatsapp, etc.. doesn't show URLs of GIFs.
You should click on it and it should show the link of that GIF so you can copy & paste it into other chats.

+1 The URLs really clutter up chat and just generally don't look good. At the very least the option to remove them would be amazing.

Just wanted to add my support for this as well. Recently had to rebuild my PC, and lost my multiple terabytes of reaction image folders... The gif service employed by Discord (Tenor) has been extremely useful to fill in the gaps while I'm in the slow and arduous process of rebuilding, but the text links it always posts are so damn annoying and stick out like sore thumbs.

It's less dramatic to see a link with a gif

Not a great work around, (on phone) tap the open external icon at the bottom right of the gif, save it to local device, tap the + sign to insert pic, select the gif you just downloaded, send.

Can't believe it has been a year and still nothing on this when it's pretty simple.
I would also include discord URL's to images. Why have the URL of a discord image? Just post the picture!

+1 to this, it's literally the greatest annoyance in the whole app imho.
It's preventing me from using the built-in GIF picker entirely, as the URL being included is just ugly and clutters the whole chat. I end up just manually grabbing the GIFs, saving them and attaching them myself like others have mentioned already.
Is there any ETA on this? At least some general acknowledgement/note from the team would be great!

Can we have a response from the dev team please?
Will the feature never be implemented because of some design reason?
Or is it a matter of priority?
(I can see this is a low priority feature, and I feel a bit silly for posting this comment with the red COVID ribbon above, but I imagine that having this answered inside the company wouldn't take very long)Maybe its on the "We don't know yet" state. Let us know!

I like the url to find how I get it but some people do get annoyed with it so instead of it bein an update they can make it so u can turn it off and on

This is really annoying. One of many things drawing attention to the differences between Twitch and competitive chat apps. The url doesn't seem to show on PC? But on Android it's def. still showing. Particularly the tenor ones.

I have resorted to using a gif keyboard, clunky but effective or showing the gif in browser downloading it and then attaching like a photo.
Both work, both are clunky, both piss me off, not easy to quickly reply with tag and gif
