I'm on a server on which I wanted to add a small feature through a bot, but for me it's not possible to let the bot join the server (and an admin declined it as well).
So I decided to control that bot through direct messages, which works perfect... Almost.
My problem is, that others can't contact the bot until they are on the same server, so they need to join it just to use my bot.
So, why don't allow everyone to direct message a bot just by id, without the need of being on the same server? I think it won't make any problems, because the bot can't write back until he gets a message and if that happens, the sender most likely wants the bot to message him back.
It's not a big deal and allows non-server-bound bots, which is great imo because you don't need permissions on any server then.
