Attenuation source selection
It'd be great to let Discord give you the ability to choose which source(s) for the attenuation feature to "listen" to. There are some headsets that give you 2 audio devices, such as the Razer Kraken Tournament Edition.
These 2 devices are labeled "CHAT" & "GAME". This allows you to more customize how each you want your games to sound vs chatting with friends.
With Discord set as the CHAT device for the default audio, attenuation will only listen to the CHAT device, it has no idea that there's anything playing on any other audio source. This causes Discord to ignore attenuation. A work around could be setting the GAME device as the default, however this can cause some headsets to play a loud annoying crackling static sound (found this out first hand).
If we could select which sources attenuation could listen to & which devices to lower the volume on, that would be fantastic :D

Agreed. Currently I need to decide whether I want to use the CHAT / GAME balance my Razer Nari Ultimate offers, or to use Attenuation. I simply haven't found a solution for both of these to work at the same time, which would be my ultimate goal.
For those who don't know, CHAT / GAME balance means that your computer has 2 different output devices, which both are being played in your headset and in the headset you have this slider (a "fader", if you please) that you can easily access to select the balance between these two output sources.
For example, if my Spotify and Game sounds are playing on "GAME" output and everything coming from Discord is coming from CHAT source, if I set the balance to be 50 / 50, I'd hear both Spotify, Game sounds and Discord sounds with the same volume. I could also set it to be like 25% GAME and 75% CHAT, so that Discord sounds would be more dominant.
But what I'd personally want to achieve, is to have the 50 / 50 balance between the GAME and CHAT, (with the ability to alter the balance during my gameplay with one hand, without leaving the game, for example if someone is talking quietly so that I could dampen the GAME sounds) so that when ever someone in Discord talks, it would Attenuate the GAME source, instead of the CHAT source.
Me and my friends don't talk all the time in Discord, even while playing, so I'd like to hear both music and game sounds better during the radio silence we are having, but when ever anyone opens their mouth, I'd like both music AND game sounds to attenuate, so that I could hear the "incoming message" more clearly.
With current implementation I'm forced to decide whether I want to
a) use this GAME / CHAT balance, with static volume on each source, with no attenuation whatsoever, OR
b) not to be able to use this GAME / CHAT balance at all, and basically use one output source with attenuation and if I had to dampen music/game sounds over the Discord sounds, I'd have to turn down the volume in both my game and in Spotify and later on if I wanted to make them louder again, I'd have to turn up the volume in both of them.0 -
You have a solution?

Sadly no. Haven’t even tried to come up with a solution either, I’ve just swallowed the loss and haven’t used the chat / game fader.
All voices (game sounds, music, discord, everything) coming through Game output. Only way that I’ve figured out how to get the attenuation to work.0
