Mobile persistent notifications

There is a specific channel in a server that I need to be urgently aware of when a new message is sent. Right now I get a single notification, sometimes even for multiple messages, and it just gets buried in my notifications until I see it: sometimes too late.

An alarm-like notification would be very useful, one that won't stop notifying until you engage.
