As far as I can tell the image is only mirrored in the local preview: other people who are watching see it the correct way around.

Every time someone posts this I'm going to respond, again, that my viewers reported their image was also reversed...

I have sort of a solution for people with logitech webcams (I use a C920)... I want to show a top down view. Instead of turning on my webcam I turn on Logitech Capture (the webcam software) which shows a non-mirrored image and then I share my screen on discord. Maybe it helps someone out there :)

Please do this. For people who stream their video chats (e.g. DnD), it's very annoying to have one person backwards

The fact this wasn't even an option from DAY ONE, and furthermore... the fact they have ignored such a simple request for over 2 years... shows how absolutely and utterly STUPID they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently, the camera is only mirrored for the host. Others on the video call will see your video feed in the correct orientation(not mirrored).

Apparently people don't read the comments where we keep explaining that some of us verified with our viewers that the video stream was reversed on their end as well. So we keep making these comments...

DISCORD SUPPORT: Can you confirm you actually READ this forum? You know, you're not looking very good right now. Are you really looking for a "Discord Support Su*ks" meme to go viral. Please respond one way or the other.

Hey there, Kevin. Can confirm I read the thread because I’ve seen numerous comments, recently, confirming that the camera is only flipped for host*; as user Fmoo pointed out 3 months ago. Only to be met with ridicule by a douche nozzle who thinks they know everything because they didn’t experience exactly what user Fmoo had. Clearly they and I must be wrong.

As for you “Discord Sucks” meme; the fact that this thread and issue has persisted for 2 years is a meme in itself.

Instead of championing a solution, discord support would rather argue in threads.

My viewers also had the same issue. It seems to be very inconsistent. Sometimes it is mirrored only for the host, sometimes it is mirrored for the viewers, sometimes for both, sometimes for neither one. I think the solution is to implement a system that makes sure what a host sees in their preview window is the same as what their viewers will see, as well as toggle buttons that flip the camera vertically and horizontally, and let the program remember the selection in the config file. This has gone on for too long. Why is it so hard to get attention for this simple issue?

Yep, in my case it is only mirrored to me but in the viewer's perspective it is not mirrored. I tried being in a call with my alt account to see what the viewer's see when I do my presentation. Though, when I go yo study stream I look weird with unmirrored camera. May I ask if it is possible to reverse that? I wanted to be mirrored in the perspective of the viewers.

I don't think it matters what the issue actually is, the real problem is that the display is not consistent between host and viewer and Discord has not fixed this nor added a mirror camera feature for 3 years since this problem was first discovered.

I just tested it myself with a friend and the issue seems to only affect me as the host but still is an issue as this is both not consistent and the mirror function cannot be altered.  (I streamed my keyboard and to me the keys looked mirrored backwards and to the friend they were fine.)

Note that we do only need this toggle for the preview at the streamer's end of things, as the viewers of the stream already see the correct non-mirrored video.  The only reason they chose to mirror the preview is to soothe your brain when using a webcam, as a non-mirrored view will grate on you as somehow "strange" when seeing your own face, but this really *does* desperately need a user-side toggle option, even if it defaults to mirror view.

The solution someone put where you open the console (Ctrl+Shft+I) and past in:

    $('#erd_scroll_detection_scrollbar_style').append("/* Unmirror Webcam*/.mirror-1Z13AJ {-webkit-transform:none!important;transform:none!important;}");

NO LONGER WORKS. I get an 'undefined error.'

So this needs an actual setting!

Please add way to disable mirrored. This is frustrating and disappointing. Stopping my nitro until this comes back. This is literally worth more than any other feature I use.

Bumping this issue again. I hate it when companies change something and don't have an option to change it back!

My use case requires unmirrored video. Skype has a toggle for this! Why don't you?!

I am starting to think Discord doesn't actually read user feedback.

3 years later and no fix yet?

Nah, this has been an issue for much longer. Discord closes these issues after about 5 years. We're not customers, we're the product...
Did you know that discord doesn't sell our data? They sell ACCESS to our data. Anyone can buy a portion of the company and get full access to all data that discord has acquired. Tencent, an extension of the Chinese government has a stake in discord, and thus has full access to all data on the platform.

They won't fix the issue, because there's no incentive to fix it. It's the same for the bugs on all platforms.
They will only release builds for new devices, they won't fix anything on current devices.
