Badge Notifications even after Server Mute

I completely mute a server and all settings 'grey out' once I do so leading me to believe the server is completely muted.

After I have muted the server 'Notification Badges' still appear.

Thus making me think one of my more relevant servers is worth looking at from Windows, but I am mistaken.. the discord notification is letting me know of gossip in a Server that I have muted.

 

I have tried various things such as muting the bell on a specific channel, yes this seems to work only for the desired channel but most servers can have 10+ each.

 

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
