Discord Freezes my Computer entirely

If I try to start up discord mid game it freezes up my whole system. Sometimes it freezes up my system when all I have open is Chrome with youtube maybe. No problems while discord isn't running.
I found a post saying you can resolve the problem by disabling the hardware acceleration in appearance settings, but guess what, when I toggle it off my computer freezes.
