Suggestion: Temporary Notifications based on your activity
Usually I have all notifications off unless I'm mentioned.
A good additional option would be to allow all notifications from channels you were recently active in, only for X minutes since your last message sent.
I just typed some stuff to my friends and didn't realize they responded because I immediately minimized and did other stuff. They didn't feel the need to @mention me. It would be nice for an option to allow notifications based on your own activity in those channels.

or you can set an time in settings.
After you wrote smth. in an channel you will receive X minutes after being active notifications (X = time set in settings)0 -
Have an upvote from me. Kinda I liked this suggestion. 0 -
I had this same idea, sorry to necro this thread, but this would be very helpful in reducing the notification clutter. I often times find myself part of large servers with many channels and constantly being pinged due to normal activity leads me to disable all notifications.
This is fine until I want to contribute and have to remember to check every place I contribute to due to notification muting. Giving users the ability to temporarily enable notifications for a set time after contributing to a discussion, similar to following a forum post, would be very helpful.
I feel like as Discord grows and becomes the de-facto replacement for forums, better notification management is required. For example, I want to know when someone responds after I post something in the technical support channel, but I don't want to be informed about all the chatter from other users.
