GIF Autoplay Toggle on Android

technoxenoholic

For accessibility reasons, I need GIFs to be static unless I choose to play them. Android does not have a toggle to turn off GIF autoplay. Even despite syncing my settings across clients (my PC settings have GIF autoplay switched off) GIFs still autoplay on mobile. I need the option to specifically TURN THEM OFF on Android!

Here's an image of my settings screen, where there is clearly no toggle for GIF autoplay:

And an image of my friend's settings screen on IOS, where there IS a toggle:

It bugs for me too. Some gifs it works on but some still autoplay, with no rhyme or reason to which ones and why.

Adding another bump. Friend just posted a flashing red-blue gif in a group which is headache-inducing, and there's really nothing to do about it on android?

Come on, we know you can do better than this, devs.
