New Beta Streaming

So, I've been using Discord for a while and just found a new button that allows me to stream through discord to my friends as long as we are in the same voice channel. I was so excited and it is such a cool feature. However, when I attempt to activate this I just get a black screen that continuously says my stream is paused and to switch to my game. I have a friend in call and we are trying to troubleshoot this together with very limited knowledge and Google doesn't even have information on this yet. I have tried windowed and full screen modes, but nothing is unpausing my stream. My friend attempted it, and it worked just fine for them. Please help.
