Local Mention

Make it possible to mention @role or @user but only show the ping notification once they browse that specific channel. Probably with another syntax, like @@role or something.

Reasoning: Currently you either have pingable roles that get abused or unpingable roles that are merely used as labels.

With a local ping you can still call people's attention based on their areas of interest, but without being invasive - if they are actively part of the community, they get notified If not, they don't. As such there's no reason to block all incoming pings.

Another completely different option would be having a different ping color for individual and generic mentions, so you can prioritize who to answer to. But that won't solve the problem of being pinged in channels you don't care about.

I was wondering if someone was making a suggestion like this. I would like to make the change of when the PING color for a mention/everyone/here/role gets used that it's a specific color on the server tab depending on the type of ping used.

@everyone can remain Red.

@here can be Orange.

@you can be Yellow.

@custom_role can be Blue.

Or give us the option to customize it. That way we can tell from a quick glance if some is just spamming all or trying to get our specific attention.
