locally muting a user

I would like to locally mute a user. There's options to mute a user in a server as an admin, but I just want to be able to not get notifications from users without blocking them. In other words, I want their messages to mark as auto-read on my end without changing their permissions on the server at all.

  Dude, I totally agree with you because I sometimes get annoyed when it comes to fixing channel permissions.
