The images you send is a file. To discord you send unknown.png as you can see on the extension its a file. Thats why shows it shows images too. Implemeting this would take more work for the client. Scanning every file for wether it is or isnt a image

@kyoko, because it's more work, does it mean it shouldn't be a thing?

If we can search for only image files, I'm sure searching for only (not) image files isn't a lot more work.

I made a bot for this! You can search files by filename and I've implemented most of discord search's features (author, channel, before / after / during, message content) + more like file type! For your case, I think searching on filetype would be pretty useful?? lmk if you try this out again and we can probably work something out!

Add it to your server with this link:

Sorry for bumping, but I was going to make a thread until I saw this.

I'm surprised this still isn't a thing. "Scanning every file for whether it is or isn't an image" is already done for images, so that argument is moot. As a programmer myself, I understand many, many things are easier said than done. However, I do not believe people can always defend developers on the sole basis of "programming is hard". How hard is it to invert a condition as a new type of search? I highly doubt it'd be too complicated or work-intensive on the client.

Can this please be a thing, scanning 700 memes for 10-20 files is exhausting
