Blocking users does not work

Discord continues to alert me that a "blocked" user has posted in a channel. Discord then taunts me to view the messages from the supposedly "blocked" user.

    Its more useful when multiple people are blocked, but yeah I really wish there was an option to hide messages entirely.

    I actually came here to make a thread about a problem with blocking but I'll just throw my feedback here. I think users being able to know they're blocked from not being able to add reactions to your messages is dumb as heck.

    I have a somewhat populated Discord server for my game and I can't block users without them knowing and getting upset. I just had to nuke my block list so I wouldn't hurt anybodys feelings when all I was using it for is to be able to take a break from the exhausting players.

    I am pretty much banned from using the block feature on my own server from its intended purpose. If people don't want to be trolled by reactions, then maybe add a setting to disallow them on your messages?

    So yeah, blocking on Discord is weird. Hope to maybe see it become a little more subtle.

    I knew I would find this.. this REALLY needs to be an option, I block people with a reason; I dont want to see anything of them, I want them out of existence from my world!

    Whoever thought this was a good idea... is another kind of special.

    Hi! 7 months later! STILL NOT FIXED!

    I don't care about messages being hidden entirely. I just want to stop receiving notifications from a blocked account. I blocked them for a reason! I don't care! No need to notify me! FIX THIS
